Contemporary art

Contemporary art, halfway between experimentation and dissolution. Post-modernity steers a path between creation and deconstruction. After the Second World War, art enters a complex world which resists labelling. Not only is there an emergence of new artistic disciplines, but there is a practically total absence of any kind of norms. A wide range of movements emerge and then vanish in rapid succession. Our country sees the appearance of ephemeral, changeable and brilliant artists in a convulsive and global world, who work and create in a climate of continual transformation and exchange of ideas across the globe. Radical protests coexist with general acceptance by the establishment: official museums alongside scandal-provoking attitudes. Something is moving in Spain.
